Montammy Golf Club Guest Information
It is our pleasure to welcome you to Montammy Golf Club. Founded in 1966, Montammy is a full service, private country club that offers its members and guests an elegant 40,000 foot Clubhouse, a challenging and well-maintained 18-hole championship golf course designed by Frank Duane, six har-tru hydro and two hard-top tennis courts, an Olympic-size outdoor pool with its own clubhouse, and a state-of-the-art fitness facility with equipment installed in 2008. LOCKERS
If requested in advance by your sponsoring member, a locker will be marked in your name and furnished with towels, shoe bags, etc. You will also be provided with the name of the locker room attendant on call. If a locker has not been reserved, our attendant will make your arrangements for the day. Please note that clothing and shoes must be changed in the locker rooms and that children under the age of fourteen must use our pool facility locker rooms.
CELLPHONES
Cellphones must be set on vibrate mode at all times while on club grounds. Conversations on cell phones may only take place in phone booths, corridors, locker rooms, card rooms and on terraces (when meals are not being served), or outside the Clubhouse. If a telephone call must be made or responded to on the golf course, at the tennis facility or in the pool area, all reasonable efforts must be taken to ensure that such conversation is as brief and private as possible and does not interfere with the other members and guests.
USE OF LAPTOP COMPUTERS AND SIMILAR DEVICES
Laptop computers and similar devices may be used in the Business Center, Board Room, Card Rooms and Pool area only and should never be used in a manner that would be disturbing to others.
TIPPING POLICY & GRATUITIES
Tipping of, or gift-giving to, any person employed by the Club or any person employed by entities contracted by the Club, by any member, his or her family or guest is strictly prohibited. This policy does not apply to caddies.
GENERAL CLUB ATTIRE
Except as specified below, proper country club attire is acceptable throughout the Club. At all times prior to 6:00 pm, dress that is permitted on the golf course and tennis courts (see below) is acceptable in the Clubhouse, except when notification to the contrary is made. Knit collarless shirts may be worn by men at any time, with or without a jacket, in the Clubhouse. Warm-up suits (not sweat suits) may be worn in the Clubhouse for breakfast and lunch.
After 6:00 pm, dress in the dining rooms is also country club casual, except as notified for particular events. In the Sports Bar, Halfway House and on the terrace areas, dress that is permitted on the golf course and tennis courts is acceptable at all times unless a room is being used for other purposes.
Hats may be worn by men in the Sports Bar and in the Halfway House, but not in any of the other Clubhouse Dining Rooms or the Main Bar. Hats may never be worn backwards in the Clubhouse, on the golf course or golf practice facilities. Men's shirts must be tucked in while in the Clubhouse, but for dinner, shirts designed to be worn outside of pants or shorts are permitted, and tailored shirts do not have to be tucked in. Feet must be covered in the Clubhouse and on the terraces.
GOLF ATTIRE
Only recognized golf attire is acceptable on the golf course, and shoes with metal spikes are prohibited; only soft-spike golf shoes are permitted. Sneakers are permitted but not preferred. Only Bermuda-length shorts are acceptable. Shirts must be worn tucked into shorts or pants.

The following attire is not permitted on the golf course: jeans, gym wear, including sweats (as distinct from warm-ups), tennis attire, collarless or sleeveless shirts for men, tank tops, and cargo shorts and pants may not be worn unless the following requirements are met – they must be neatly pressed, pocket(s) shall be flat, fashion pockets and not large over-sized baggy pockets, and no longer than the top of the knee. No frayed edges or cuffs are permitted.
TENNIS ATTIRE
All players must wear proper tennis sneakers and tennis attire. No short shorts are permitted. For men, T-shirts are allowed, but no sleeveless shirts. For women, T-shirts are allowed, but no bare midriffs.
FITNESS CENTER ATTIRE
- Shirts and sneakers must be worn in the fitness center at all times. Bathing suits are not permitted. All manner of workout gear is permitted.
THE POOL AREA ATTIRE
- Bathing attire is permitted in the locker rooms and swimming pool areas only. Bathing attire with proper coverings may be worn on the terraces until 6:00 p.m. Cover ups and shoes must be worn when leaving the pool area. Robes or other coverings must be worn going to and from the lockers, washrooms and showers within the locker rooms.
DINING AT MONTAMMY
- Relax on one of our stone terraces with spectacular views of the golf course and the setting sun, or sample the casual atmosphere of our sports bar.
- For a more refined dining experience, join us in the Montammy Room, our main dining room.
- Our Halfway House is open from 7:00 am-4:00 pm, with daily complimentary bagels and coffee from 7:00 am-10:00 am.
- Full tableside service is offered at the pool, which also features seasonal spa cuisine.
